Hey, thank you for creating this community! I’m the Nerdy_empress (u/No-Professional-1092) from Reddit ;) Hopefully more people will move here soon. I noticed reddit already started blocking content that mentions musk or trump. But now that we have a new home - I’m hopeful we’ll win those tyrans!

We need to shift people from reddit to here. I feel Reddit is getting hostile towards organizing.

A pinned post from automod “hey we’re moving to the fediverse! Joining the party, with federation you choose where you make an account, at any one of THESE links! Switching to fedi isnt a huge change but HERE is a quick primer on how to find content you like!” You need to pitch it as the switch to Lemmy being not too hard/complex and their usage of reddit already giving them an edge in setting things up.

[These] Link 2 or 3 of the major lemmys and a brief description of the moderation team/lemmy rules that set them apart and you think your users would like or find the easiest time settling into.

[HERE] Link a faq or other short document explaining subscribing to sublemmys or magazines, (ideally one using reddit terms and comparisons, because that’s what they’re familiar with)

Maybe ask the mods to start creating a pinned comment on every post asking people to migrate here .

And maybe offer some instructions because it took me a bit to figure out how to get on the right server and set it up.

I agree! I suggest to ask the Mods of 50501 and the founder to pin this onto the reddit homepage of 50501 and write a post about it so more people know about the move.
