Summary
Trump dismissed concerns about Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying Americans should focus on domestic issues instead.
His comments followed criticism from former national security adviser H.R. McMaster, who accused Trump of “coddling” Putin after berating Ukraine’s Zelensky.
Trump falsely claimed he was the only president who didn’t “give” Ukrainian land to Russia. European leaders, alarmed by his stance, are working on a ceasefire plan to present to him.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin praised Trump’s foreign policy, and GOP leaders increasingly support his approach to Russia.
Correct. Americans should focus their concerns on our fascist, racist, kleptocratic president. They should be concerned about how that self-serving huckster is dismantling the administrative state in an effort to enrich himself and his oligarch colleagues at our expense. They should be concerned about how that cowardly demagogue is undermining democracy itself to insulate himself from the rule of law. They should also be concerned about how that dishonest fool is weakening us, and making us and our allies less safe in the long term by capitulating to militaristic authoritarians like Putin.
They’re the same picture. People are worrying about and talking about Putin more now because of Trump.
