    No he can’t, he is going broke :

    • Russia is operating with a budget deficit
    • borrowing from foreign lands is blocked
    • local banks are unable / unwilling to buy more state bonds, as they’d risk insolvency
    • the most liquid part (estimate: about 60%) of the national wealth fund has been used up

    Pressing financial issues might be impossible to postpone for longer.

      We’ve been hearing it for 3 years now and Russia didn’t even fully switch into a war economy. They’re taking a horrifying cost but they’re nowhere near not being able to continue.

      Repeating that Russia is about to run out of money means we can absolve ourselves from not doing enough right now because what’s the point if they’re about to fail on their own, right?

        i’m very sorry to hear my comment could be read in this way. Please note i advocate for strong European support of Ukraine including sending troops before the peace is reached.
