Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is warning that his country will likely lose its war with Russia without U.S. military support.
Ukraine has increased its military defense production since Russia launched its full-scale invasion but has a “low chance” of survival if the U.S. cuts support under President Donald Trump, Zelenskyy said Friday in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“It will be very, very, very difficult,” he said in the interview with Kristen Welker scheduled to air Sunday. “And, of course, in all the difficult situations, you have a chance. But we will have a low chance — low chance to survive without support of the United States.”
I can’t even express how angry this whole thing makes me. It was avoidable. We could have reacted in 2014.
Thanks Obama (and Merkel)
If only there was a punishment for Crimea…
Please Europe help Ukraine!
At this moment, Europe is already doing most of the helping. The latest report about transfered military material, as of February 9 (note: a few countries, for example Finland, do no disclose what they send):

I believe that Europe can do more - sometimes at the cost of lowering its own preparedness (but Russia is not currently in a state that allows attacking one more country). So a reduction in capability seems like a risk one could take in the short term.
I also see indications that Europe might do more (e.g. Commission allows countries to exceed budget balancing limits on defense spending).
I also see indications that some European arms industries have already increased production (e.g. SAAB indicating that it can make 400 000 units of NLAW next year).
“That’s the idea” says Trump, Putin’s fanboi.
EU … step in …
There’s going to be another war 100%, mark my words, we are currently in 1938 again. Trump called Putin is same as Ribentrov and Molotov. Europe behaving same as Chamberlain holding a scrap of paper 1 year before attacking Poland. Russia will go for Georgia, Moldova and then Baltic states
Isn’t that the what trump and putie agreed on when he was installed in the White House?
Most likely before being installed in the Whitehouse the first time around.
So, not a proxy war.
One side being weaker and reliant on outside support is not what makes something a proxy war.
That’s what I said.
Your initial comment comes across as sarcastic.
When someone tells you how you came across to them, pretending that you didn’t come across to them that way is pretty silly.
