So, anybody got a thumbnail sketch of the Mujahideen history and politics? What’s their relationship to the Taliban? What does gender role enforcement look like?
Short answer:
Less of an single, ideologically aligned group after the 90’s
Longer answer:
Better question is how, when and why they were funded and supported by American government to help them become the fighter force they are today.
I know that back in the '80s the US supported them with arms and maybe guerrilla training to bleed the USSR. They were publicized as freedom fighters. I don’t know much of the history.
