Summary

Republican lawmakers are beginning to push back against some of Donald Trump’s spending cuts and tariffs as they impact their states.

Senators Katie Britt, Susan Collins, and Bill Cassidy criticized cuts to NIH funding, which support research institutions in their states.

Rural Republicans introduced a bill to protect the Food for Peace program, which Trump and Elon Musk want to dismantle.

Tariffs on imports, particularly from Canada, have also sparked objections from figures like Mitch McConnell and Chuck Grassley, who warn they will raise costs for farmers and consumers.

Indeed. NBC has to quit the wishful thinking. They’re desperate for any sign of any beginning of any good news from the GOP and they’re not seeing any. The truth is, the sycophantic spineless republican senators are obeying their overlord like good little minions and there’s no two ways around it.
