    Because many of them secretly agreed with him all along. They weren’t enforcing rules against queerphobia and hate speech because they believed it, they were doing it because they were afraid to express how they really feel and wanted general people to think they weren’t evil.

    It’s the same reason big tech corpos did pride month. They never actually cared, they wanted people to think they did though.

    I suspect many individuals are resigned to doing the covert actions abd inefficiencies they can, whilst trying to keep their jobs.

    People who work in government and areas like national security are of a certain mindset. Usually it’s about order, organisation, protocol, and work.

    In some areas of government protest is seen as criminal, and while many of them would do the right thing most of them will need a leader to show them how, why, and that it’s okay to.

    Until then changes will be hindered from within. Although that might turn into something more effectual after the 50 state protest that the media aren’t really promoting enough.
