America’s air safety crisis, our automobile-congested cities, and our lack of high-speed rail and other options make getting places a real (and dangerous) pain in the ass. We desperately need safe, efficient, and enjoyable public transit.

The most likely scenario is the US losing a war with China, being occupied and getting high-speed rail along with its Xi Jinping Thought reeducation. The others are even less likely.

Most cities are trying to improve it. My city has invested $1B into a light rail expansion, and $500M into BRT
My city is going to finish a new bus route. They’re hoped for target is September of 2030. They’re just that good.
