Not Gen Z. But if I’m reading this right, bartenders are annoyed these customers pay for their drinks immediately? That’s definitely the norm in my country and takes maybe 10 seconds for the bartender to grab the eftpos machine and for me to tap my phone to it.
They also bring up the issue that they occupy space. But holy shit, if you don’t want people in your bar, just close down. These bars exist because it’s a place people can go to hang out. If you don’t want to be a welcoming place, you don’t deserve to be in business.

I’ve never worked in a bar, but I have worked in multiple coffee shops in the past few years. Anecdotally, I’ve had much better experiences with Gen Z customers than any other age group. They tend to be pretty chill and understanding customers, and if anything they’re too kind. I’ve had kids apologizing after I spilled their drinks.
