Reddit just banned a ton of LGBTQ+ and NSFW subs, I imagine a bunch of people will be heading this way!

They claim it’s an “accident” and unbanned a lot of them. Sure 🙄 They’re just testing how submissive their userbase are, lol

They’re making sure the system works for when they need to hit it for real. Just like all the other social media platforms that “accidentally” censored anything that wasn’t pro Trump.

Yeah this, “bug” seems like insurance for when Musk starts attacking Xitter competitors. Now investors can be assured Reddit can ban every controversial subreddit in one sweep.

Can we not advertise lemmy.world this time? The entire point is to decentralize so ban waves like this don’t affect too many people.

Hello! I’m new to Lemmy, originally during the Reddit exodus when 3rd party apps got shafted (RIP Apollo) I joined kbin but the dev has since gone dark and I unfortunately found myself back on reddit.

Im trans and with this whole NSFW ban and trans subreddits getting banned I’m back.

Does anyone know any good trans specific communities (what are these called here? Sublemmies?) on Lemmy? They don’t have to be specific to the lemm.ee instance!

    TIA

Anarchist/socialist communities are always pro trans. I joined slrpnk.net because it’s got those as well as a focus on sustainable living. Your choice of instance doesn’t impact your feed too much.

Get Voyager, it’s an app like Apollo was for Reddit.

It has a pretty good community search function that works across instances. You’ll find a lot doing it that way.

Im replying from Voyager now and this just straight up feels and looks almost exactly like I remember Apollo. I could cry tears of joy 🥲

Didn’t go back to reddit and am not trans but I just wanted say, otherwise your journey has been exactly the same as mine! From Kbin to lemm.ee and RIP apollo indeed. There’s a lot of trans friendly comms and instances in general. 196 may be a familiar name and the blahaj instance in general seems trans friendly. Depends on what type of comms you’re looking for. Check out voyager if you haven’t already, very reminiscent of Apollo. Welcome back.

if they even are aware of Lemmy. from what I’ve read, Reddit is quick to delete any mentions of it

Other than just knowing that things continue to decline (everywhere), who cares? I guess I do, cause I’m taking the time to comment. But it’s all downhill, everywhere, from here.
