If you design the election system from scratch in a better way, proportional representation, ranked choice voting, maybe you won’t!

      Heh.

I live in a country with proportional representation and no “two-party system”. We still managed to elect a “scoundrel”. Unfortunately, we live in a bad timeline :')

I mean, proportional representation IS good. But it can be better.

        • Elected people are directly recallable at any time.
        • Accepting a donation from anyone -> Never run for office ever again.
        • No people who ever worked in corporate can become politicians.
        • Having unfull evidence of misbehaviour or hiding it when asked about it -> Never run ever again.

Do the Fourecks thing and put the winner in jail immediately after the election.

Veering wildly to one side, I’m a little surprised no cartoons of this era have tried depicting anarchism. Half of them are about another world, or set on a drastically different Earth, and yet every single one of them leans on fairy-tale monarchy.

Fucking Star Wars had a leftist critique of power structures, as a numbered sequel. There’s no way a gaggle of creators this consistently queer are unaware of what they could get past Standards & Practices, so long as they don’t say the real words.
