Here we go again. From conservative to liberal as soon as it has a personal impact.
I don’t think that it’s right for the leadership, especially Republican leadership, that prides itself on being pro-family, to be so anti-family,
It’s “he’s not hurting the right people”, all over again.
she’s sooooooo fucking close to getting it… yet still so far away.
Just why is it that qons are so obsessed with things being in-person, even when they absolutely do not need to be?
Conservatives only trust things they can see. If it can’t be seen directly with the naked eye in real time it is a conspiracy or imaginary.
It’s why things like vaccines don’t seem real to them. They can see the needle and the injection but what happens afterwards is an unknowable, untrustworthy thing.
It’s also why MAGA had such a hard time processing Biden’s win. Saying things like, “he didn’t even hold that many rallies” or “attendance at his rallies were low!” Because to them, a physical presence is necessary to convince anyone that someone is serious about winning their votes (or even real).
Since anything unseen is scary to them it’s easy to point the finger at people they don’t see very often and say, “they’re the ones responsible for your troubles!”
All of these are very good points. That’s a great tie-in to how they viewed Biden. They thought that him “campaigning from the basement” and Democrats taking social distancing seriously meant that Biden could not have possibly won. I think they take the same view on things like yard signs, as well, come to think of it. The Democrats don’t really have the equivalent - or at least it’s much more rare - where someone that may support a given candidate has to buy a bunch of branded gear like some kind of cult member…
some think everything not in person can be easily manipulated. they don’t trust the safeguards enough.
What I’ve seen even in rather low-stakes situations - like everyday office jobs - is that some Karen gets all worked up about trying to “get everyone back to work”. As if all of us have NOT been working just because this particular person doesn’t get to SEE them at a desk. I have seen this kind of thing come and go in various forms ever since 2020, essentially.
I mean, I really do think a certain kind of person - and so far, in my experience, every single one was a conservative - is just driven nuts by the idea of remote work. Now, I’ve seen at least some of them think it is fine for themselves. But for others - everyone else is under a cloud of suspicion. This is something that occupies their mind even if they are not managers.
I just don’t get it. But I do know that a huge component of these people getting worked up about Covid is about OTHER people seemingly “getting away” with something by working remotely. It really seems to have just driven them even crazier.

Now can she apply this lesson to other aspects of life? It says she’s freedom caucus so I’m not terribly optimistic.
Trashy pieces of shit
