There used to be some application named vigilante that had alert when microphone or camera was activated. Then it’s dev stopped updating it and that was that.

I know android should show some small icon when camera or mic is active, but that doesnt help me if i’m not actively looking at the screen at the time.

Do you know of anything that could still do what vigilante did? I’d prefer to know if something was trying to be sneaky. Or is it pointless even trying to do that due to something?

    i might do that too, but turning them on and off constantly would be such a bother. Also it would be annoying to forget microphone when someone calls or you call to someone. I wish i could just install grapheneos or something, but fairphone doesnt seem to be supported for it and at this point i wouldnt want to risk losing my data if something breaks.

      The pixel is a secondary device I got for a job but they let me keep, so it’s not a bother for me.

      It does prompt you to unmute but it’s very easy to forget to turn it back on.

      It’s not a good solution, but I like that it’s an option
