In December, we shared our end-of-year survey with New Democrats and nearly 2,400 of you shared your thoughts about what we should prioritize in our first months in government.
We wanted to share the results with you, [Rentlar], and thank everyone who took a few minutes to let us know what matters to them.
A lot of you had very positive things to say. We were honoured by the trust British Columbians have put in the BC NDP and Premier David Eby.
One supporter said, “I truly feel that the BC NDP and Eby have my best interests at heart, and that they have the skills and knowledge to make positive change.”
People are hopeful for the future with the BC NDP in government, but deeply concerned about the growing right-wing threat in BC. Over 86% of you said you’re worried about the rise of Pierre Polievre and Donald Trump.
Health care and housing were the number one issues you wanted your BC NDP government to focus on in 2025.
Our new government is already getting to work building more hospitals and expanding access to healthcare around the province. And our housing policies are starting to make a dent. Rental vacancies are at their highest level since 2013 and rent increases are slowing down thanks to thousands of new rental homes opening up.
David and our BC NDP MLAs are committed to supporting workers and getting more money in people’s pockets. We’re making progress, but more work needs to be done.
You had some good ideas for how we can tackle the cost of living and get more healthcare workers in BC.
We’ve taken note: climate solutions, poverty reduction, and the economy were high on people’s priority lists for the new government to work on in 2025.
Thank you for helping us stay focused as we head into 2025!

PS. If you missed out on your chance to take part in our end-of-year survey, don’t worry, there will be plenty more opportunities to have your say this year.
