I’m at this one. Lots of black and gold here!

Saw one cheering the refs and the game hasn’t even started!

Are there more federation issues? Looks like yo_scottie_oh’s game thread was ignored.

Did I miss it? I looked on Lemmy.world before I posted and didn’t see it. I assumed he just missed posting it (it’s not automatic - the bot no longer works).

(I just looked on lemmy.world again and don’t see it.)

Very odd, I still don’t see it on .world, where the community is hosted.

          Screen shot

I don’t understand how it could appear on .ml but not on .world, where the community is hosted…

Found you guys! It doesn’t looks like any federation lag was detected yesterday. Thanks for the screenshot—for a sec I was thinking maybe the game thread just didn’t show up at the top of the list, but your screenshot proves that it doesn’t seem to have shown up in the list at all (at least in your view, since Christian seems to have found both threads), so there must be some other issue at play here.

For future reference, this health check dashboard should surface if there is any lag in federation across instances. At first glance, this dashboard is a lot to look at, but above the line graph, there are two controls where we can select our source and target instances. I selected .ml and .world as the sources and .world and .ee as the targets. I usually then look at the units of time along the y-axis labels, but in the top right there’s also a table showing min, max, and average for each source/target combination.

Nice graphs. But it looks like the delays were minutes, at most. Very odd.

I have no idea how the federation works. I assumed that the post had to happen on lemmy.world, as the “master” for the community, then federate out. But maybe you can make the post on any federated server (i.e., lemmy.ml, which you and Chirstian both use), then Lemmy.world picks it up, after which it’s available to other Lemmys, like lemm.ee. So something preventing the post from getting to .world from .ml would cause what we saw there.

For what it’s worth, I do see the thread you posted now. Not sure when it actually appeared, though.
