Forgot how good that show was for the first 5 seasons or so. It ran for 9, but after the 5th, it just seemed like it jumped the shark and kept repeating the same plots over and over (which I guess is kind of meta since the whole premise is Drew’s life is basically in a rut).
One thing I learned during this watch through is that the English accent Craig Ferguson used for Mr. Wick was, intentionally, the worst accent he could get by with. He apparently did it that way as a bit of a “take that!” to English actors who do terrible Scottish accents.
A fun/cringe fact about that: I was in a play in high school, my character was a British colonel, and I had to do an English accent for the part. I modeled it off of Ferguson’s Mr. Wick unaware that it was intentionally, over-the-top terrible 😆
It was also during the time of syndication, so it was more acceptable to redo plotlines, since it wasn’t made for dvd/bluray/binge streaming.
The sleep baking and mimi face on the pillow were very memorable to me.
Drew Carey is the only time I’ve ever heard the phrase, "Cleveland rocks"
BITCH IM FROM THA LAND
When I think about Drew Carey, I think about playing Blood & Magic and Theme Park on the family computer that was opposite the tv.
Drew Crew??
