The null hypothesis is almost funnier. Someone out there murdered a stranger for no sensible reason, ran away, and hid somewhere private, glued to the TV and wracked with guilt. Then it turns out that the victim was a fucking Nazi and he can breathe a sigh of relief.
If you read the article it seems to just be a random event, just the inevitable result of allowing just about anyone to buy a gun. Could’ve been a lucky stray bullet, or someone just randomly shooting at cars on the freeway like some kind of GTA IRL.
