The Arakan
Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) terrorists killed two people, including a young
woman fromDaingnet community, abducted three civilians and
burned down three houses in Maungdaw and Buthidaung townships of Arakan
State.
A reminder that ARSA is working with the military Junta, having been revived and trained by Min Aung Hlaing and the junta to work as a counter to the then emerging threat of Arakan Army(AA) who are the dominant ethnic group of the state named after them. Min Aung Hlaing has used ultra-nationalism and stoked religious and ethnic strife prior to the coup, the Rohingya massacre being his most famous one. Now that Arakan is mostly under the control of AA, he is attempting to foment ethnic and religious strife in Arakan making AA’s governance difficult. This pattern has been seen elsewhere.
