The article seems a bit scant on details re: why people are leaving. Is it because the youth are unsatisfied with the quality of life available in the country? Are they seeking a more western-style way of life (perhaps one that’s more secular)? Is this yet another case of younger generations getting pushed out because they cannot find success in a place where all the good homes and jobs are tightly clutched by the older generations? Or is there something completely different causing the mass migration out of the country? The article mentions “the economy” but that could mean so many things, especially when much of the world is also still struggling with post-covid fallout in one way or another.

Bhutan’s probably the last place on Earth that’s similar to the Vajrayana home my Soul remembers, from a previous-incarnation as a Himalayan monk…

( it had multiple mere-animal incarnations, since then,

so nobody go believing I’m any kind of “special” in any way:

Universe is a “churn”, & Continuums/Souls just get perpetually recycled within it, until they find the tiny method for getting “out” from the churn:

there’s nothing “religious” about it, as Huston Smith’s brilliant “World Religions” book’s “Buddhism” chapter makes clear…

“self” is just the mind-defect/Soul-defect/Continuum-defect that keeps Continuums trapped/contained, is all…

Dissolve that defect, & the Continuum can dissolve into OceanOfAllAwakeSouls, which others call “G-D”.

it’s just an endless-stream-of-Universes scale mechanism,

& awareness-processing is its function, allowing ignosis to be “born” into ocean-of-phenomena/Universes,

      then “mashing” or “grinding” that ignosis-mind’s Continuum/Soul until only gnosis is remaining… endlessly… in all Universes… endlessly… forever… )

      But…

      Bhutan’s kind-of a desert, material-culturally & economically…

The worst of “development” pours into the country, through the internet, bars, etc, & EVERYBODY who is ANYbody in the world, has material-things well in excess of what people who remain in Bhutan have… right?

IF you were young, energetic, seeing with your own eyes that NOTHING is happening in Bhutan, seeing through the intertubes that EXCITING stuff™ is happening in other-places, & the only “high paying”

      ( apparently “high paying”,

but actually not-being-paid, because it’s all organized-crime/scammery, that pulls people from 1 country to another, for earnings:

the organized-crime keeping the profits, & keeping the foreign-workers economically-enslaved: nobody who suckers their life to them “wins”, from what I’ve read about it. ) jobs are out-of-country…

Would you be able to resist the urge to leave enforced-boredom at national-scale?

      Could you?

Economic-trinkets, economic-energy, the “hustle” of big cities, it pulls lives, you know?

Bhutan needed much more economic-development strategy, & instead … it bet on the “wrong horse”, ttbomk…

Their “strategy” didn’t keep young people in the country:

so, the gutting of their country happened, instead.

( this aside from the point that they made only-ethnic-Bhutanese citizenship, & much of the population had been Nepali-origin,

so therefore they created the highest-domestic-refugee-rate in the entire world… )

There’s no way to win, if your view of your situation is blinkered/blinded to entire-dimensions-of-meaning,

& ALL of us are blind to something, if not lots-of-somethings…

( this is why collaborative issue-diagrams are sooo spectacularly effective, for solving strategy: ANYone who has an insight, then we all can stand, together, on that-insight’s leverage, too, see?

The pattern of insights is worth much more than a mere-addition of so-many insights, you know?

      : )

There was only a narrow no-mistakes-path that could win, for Bhutan,

      & they wandered from that no-mistakes-path, & … lost.

BTW, the airportless runway in the East of the country was put there by India, for defending against China…

China encroaches into Bhutan, into northern India, etc…

The deathmatch between China & India’s coming, it’s just a few years away, still…

Expect it to begin, in earnest, in … 2032?

Islamism & Hindutva fighting to polarize India as perfectly as possible, before then…

      rabies all 'round…

Bhutan’s not going to exist, beyond that time, whenever China obliterates it, as it did Tibet…

That too, affects someone’s willingness to remain in Bhutan, you know?

Sorry I’m not pouring “cheer” into the world, but … the butchery that’s coming, the rest of this century, is near world-extinguishing.
