The union representing 9,500 flight attendants at Air Canada says the company’s quarterly profit of $838 million shows it is more than capable of giving its flight attendants a raise to their poverty starting wages. It also shows the company is more than capable of ending its reliance on – and abuse of – unpaid work by flight attendants.

      Flight attendants only start getting paid when the door to the plane is closed until it re-opens. It’s total bullshit, and all major airlines can afford to pay staff from the moment they ‘punch in’ until the moment they ‘punch out’.

    $26,487 Is $12.73 an hour if you work 40 hours a week, though google says they technically work less than that I would include any time they are in a foreign city as hours worked since they can’t work a different job while there (making it less that said amount)

    It claims Air Canada doesn’t pay for anything outside of the plane being in motion (boarding, cleaning, letting people off) but if it’s salary then I don’t understand the argument
