Alright, so I am a bit late to this episode, but it was worth the wait. This whole flashback sequence is up there with the great cinematic moments that Oshi no Ko season 2 had this past season as just some top tier pieces of art. The whole time I am watching that flashback with the happy kid, I know it is going to end tragically, but you can’t help but be moved by the animation and ost.
Zooming out a bit and looking at this series as a whole so far, how would you describe this show to somebody? Is it action? Is it romance? Is it a comedy? Is it a tragedy? It is some weird blend of tons of different genres layered onto an absurdly nonsensical storyline. Yet it somehow just works so well. Each week, you never seem to know what type of show you are getting that episode.
What an episode, my friends. I have no words to describe how I’m feeling.
Hey, You should add YouTube in Streaming section too. Playlist - Muse Asia
Looks like the bot comment has it (above the table of links). The bot gets updated show metadata like that once a week. Often links will get added as the show’s run goes on, especially for services used less often in US/EU/JP which comprise the bulk of AniList users. Earlier weeks likely just didn’t have that link, where they copy/pasted the post contents from.
Created an Ani.Social account SPECIFICALLY to talk about this episode. OMG, what a masterpiece of animation and storytelling.
At the start, we care very little about Acrobatic Silky. At the end of the episode, we care about Acrobatic Silky so much it brings tears to our eyes. All without lengthy dialogue or any narrative exposition. And the visuals… just mindblowing.
So much media uses cheap tricks to try to convey drama or pull at the audience’s heartstrings. Dan Da Dan achieves it with quality storytelling.
Yeah, this episode really did a lot of showing rather than telling to convey the story. Sometimes that can be confusing, but they paired it with some really good direction and animation to really convey a lot of emotions. Really, really well done episode.
Me at the start of the episode:
Me by the end of the episode:
Haha, this was me basically the whole episode. I knew that as soon as the flashback started it was going to be tragic. However, it still hit because it was so well done.
In nutshell
Peak but IDK why here started raining when I was watching this episode.
The animation was on the next level. I barely could see it with tears gathering in my eyes.
Acro Silky’s aura, kill yourself.
Bra-freaking-vo. This studio does not miss.
Good episode, but that was legit sad.
Everyone said everything about the animation, cinematic story-telling already. Let me discuss different.
In the last moments human Acrobatic Silky could’ve taken note of the car number plate than chasing it herself. Like, I don’t want to sound mean, but she gave up too fast. I know shew was wounded heavily but she had the last push where she could’ve just seen the number plate and remembered it than chasing it all-out. And somehow be in one-piece next morning and chase the guys with the help of the police. She might even know the guys and identify them to the police since they attacked her specifically. I know this is all far-fetched and kind of a coping from my side but I couldn’t help it myself seeing such tragedy has happened to her in a blink of an eye. I am not saying she didn’t do enough, she did everything she could and life is cruel.
Crazy episode, crazy animation, crazy everything. Absolute dandadan.
