Biden is being a gentleman doing what is expected of him and accepting that the public elected a sack of shit who didn’t even show up for Biden’s inauguration and tried to seize the government. The point is, the public did elect the sack of shit this time, and Biden respects that. He’s doing his job, no matter how hard he’s gonna have to wash that hand.

His job is to protect the country and constitution. He’s derelict of his duty.

Even if the SC hadn’t given him a blank check to do whatever he wanted, his patriotic duty is to eliminate threats, of which Trump and friends are.

It’s his job to get the fuck out of the office because that’s what the people voted for.

I made fun of right-wing dipshits for 4 years for saying the same shit you are right now in the opposite direction.

It’s so uncanny it’s almost like it’s on purpose to make libs or progressives look as dumb as republicans.

It’s because being “gentlemanly” by sitting back and letting this happen is the absolute pinnacle of falling victim to the paradox of intolerance. Trump has zero tolerance for democracy. Letting this traitor back into office to dismantle any hope of free and fair elections in the future is fucking stupid, and the more decorum shown to this fascist moron, the more his future actions are legitimized to the public.

It’s true that refusing to hand over the office in any way is undemocratic in its own right. I can’t pretend to know what the exact right answer is: the dumbass, impressionable electorate put us here by voting how it did. But smiling and shaking hands while this fuck prepares to dismantle our freedoms is so, so dumb.

IT’S NOT UP TO HIM. HE HAS NO CHOICE.

Whether he fakes a smile and shakes the orange fuckers hand makes no difference. He must leave. It’s what our stupid ass electorate dictated. He must now obey. That’s how this works.

It absolutely does. Go out with a bang, not a whimper! Show the people that you wanted to fight for them! Show them what you really think of this stupid, hateful rich asshole! Have a spine! Voters’ memory is short, sure, but it wouldn’t be nothing! And there are vulnerable people in the interim who need to know they’re not alone!

But of course this is the team that thought leaning even more conservative would win them an election. Of course they’ll happily wave this in.

If the US wants to be fucking stupid, there’s nothing Biden can do to stop us.

If that were true he’d have more votes. He has the same really, less of you account for population growth. In reality, a lot of people just didn’t vote.

Biden will step down of course, but it is absolute nonsense that our justice system ever let it get this far with him.

Now explain why Trump using violence to overthrow an election is an attempted coup, but Biden doing it is protecting the constitution.

I am all for Trump getting his shit pushed in and I wish him nothing but the worst, but don’t pretend that your double standard is somehow a righteous defense of the Constitution.

man people really lack nuance these days huh? what a black and white world you must live in.

tell me do you see any difference between walking up and punching a child vs. forcibly restraining someone trying to do the same? they’re both violent though!

It’s moreso in the fact that trumps followers were also totally convinced that the child was about to be punched. Everyone likes to think their view of the world is objective and everyone who acts against it does so fully knowing what they’re doing.

That aside if any of these politicians actually cared they would’ve attempted to fix your election system long ago, so of course he’s doing nothing.

How would you suggest fixing it? Because no President can fix it without forcibly destroying the rest of our democracy. Amendments to the constitution are performed by the legislative branch and require a super majority. The president is not in the right branch. To breach another branches power they generally need to find loop holes created by Congress not realizing someone would abuse them.

Example: emergency powers granted to the president. They do not give the president ability to change written law, and must be re-voted on by Congress to remain ongoing after a set amount of time. The president has to claim/declare a state of emergency that is a threat to our nation.

So that is what Trump says he will use and why he calls the immigrants an invasion to forcibly detain people. Any logical source would show that immigration has been occurring for most of our countrys existence. Also that he spent 4 years with it occurring before and it wasn’t an emergency then.

Now immigration is decreasing, Trump faught against legislation proposed by his own party to slow the flow of immigrants. As such it is a clear misuse of power to declare it an emergency, especially to override legislation to enable military members on our own soil and thereby id argue an impeachable offense. One could call that an invasion perhaps.

Every legislative branch member that agrees to give up the legislative branches responsibility in this manner by not writing new immigration laws in an attempt to fix the issue is not upholding the constitution, but rather trying to bypass their branches responsibility. Emergency powers were created for fast acting scenarios of the executive branch, the Republicans have had decades to write legislation, they turn down immigration reform legislation. They are clearly not trying to fix anything. Thereby all members who vote to keep the state of emergency going should be impeached for breaking their oath to uphold the constitution.

everyone being convinced of their subjective experience doesn’t mean there’s not an objective truth.

Uhh. Biden hasn’t never had the intention to ruin the constitution. Trump is quoted as saying or putting it in digital writing calls of terminating the constitution of truth social and being a dictator. If you can’t trust someone’s word as evidence to do something idk what the point of ever listening to anyone about anything.

Bidens job is to protect the constitution. Anything he did to Trump could be justified.

Coup? That is over throwing power and the state I dididn’t say that.

Someone DID break the law, broke the constitution, and is threatening to dissolve the constitution.

Where as on the other hand they didn’t do all that.

What is this double standard there is one standard and it should be applied. Turns out only one side is doing illegal shit in the presidency. Only one side broke laws. The laws should apply. Trump could serve his presidency from a jail cell but make sure the law is applied. Execution is a one of the penalties that could apply to Treason. Treason is defined in the U.S. Constitution as levying war against the U.S. or giving aid and comfort to its enemies. If the facts are true that Trump gave informants info to Russia i think we have a strong case. I don’t believe in execution but what is the point of swearing to protect the constitution if you won’t do it.

For election interference Trump should be in jail for 5 years. For the insurrection 10 years. And can’t hold any office For advocating to overthrow the government 20 years.

Trump did this and many other things. He hasn’t seen a jail cell. This isn’t prosecuting political enemy it is upholding the constitution and law. A president can govern from jail in the USA. I would argue insurrection disqualified him. Not that I want it but let JD Vance in but not him

Should he have given mango bastard both barrels of the ol’ S-Mart special as soon as he walked in the door? Maybe. Would that have changed anything in the medium or long term? Not at all. He’d have to mow his way through half of Congress to make a dent.

You’re not wrong about the first part and the constitution, by way of how the votes came in, says Trump is the next President.

If that makes Biden derelict of his duty, however, that would be a leap because I don’t think Trump has been convicted or otherwise held to account of anything that would be disqualifying.

If the sitting president can eliminate the incoming president because he believes him to be a threat then damn, were right back to where we started.
