Summary

This victory makes Trump the first U.S. president to serve non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland and the first with a criminal conviction to hold office.

Democrats were shocked by the loss, particularly as exit polls revealed significant shifts among key demographics: Latino men favored Trump by 10 points, and more voters identified as independents or unaffiliated.

The economy was the top priority for Trump supporters, while Harris voters emphasized democracy and abortion rights.

The election also showed increased dissatisfaction with the country’s direction, as 72% of voters expressed anger or frustration.

Did you choose not to vote Harris? Because I still voted for Harris

I gritted my teeth and voted for her but as soon as she started touting the Rubes endorsing her I knew it was over. How fucking hard can it be to just be progressive? Its that fucking simple.

How would you know, we haven’t had a viable progressive party in decades. We’ve only had conservative and diet-conservative. Turns out that’s not a winning move. I don’t even know how we go about fixing the country at this point, but a top to bottom overhaul of the DNC couldn’t possibly hurt.

That’s exactly my point. Hell Oregon has a progressive party and they can’t win local elections in supposedly a progressive state.

Because the country has moved further right than the 90s/early 2000s Republicans

It verifiably hasn’t. Votes for Trump have remained constant for the last 2 elections. He is not gaining supporters, the Democrats are losing supporters.

This is literally the exact same tired tactic used about 2016; attack and blame the left, instead of the neoliberals, moderates, centrists, corporations, or 70 million people who voted for fascism. It is a manufactured PsyOp, that has achieved the exact opposite of what you want 2/3 times.

Trying to blame and shame the left into voting the way you want has failed 66% of the time. You can either learn from it, or continue repeating the same mistakes… it’s not like the left’s gonna care. They blame you, and enjoy the schadenfreude of your failures.

Funny, because it sure got Obama fucking elected. Even though the DNC didn’t support him in '08 and would have preferred the nomination going to Hillary. Even though even he is pretty milquetoast as far as progressives go, his campaign was more successful than anything else the Dems have done in a decade.

A black man offered change and universal healthcare and the U.S. gave him 8 years.
