The ballot drop boxes in Washington and Oregon both have fire suppression systems that are designed to activate when the temperature inside reaches a certain point, coating ballots inside with a fire-suppressing powder.

For unknown reasons, the system failed to prevent the destruction of hundreds of ballots in Vancouver, just across the Columbia River from Portland.

    Do you expect them to tell you the license plate number? What would make you feel better?

      Police usually find vehicle owners quickly when they have plate numbers. If car/owner is not home, then they will often tell public to be on lookout. They could have said colour/model or picture of Volvo if that is all they have… maybe they have all the info they need. Maybe they ask public for help later. Vehicle ID is usually enough to catch someone quickly.
