In March he was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer, and in July he had emergency surgery for a lower bowel issue, resulting in Bellini having to wear a colostomy bag for three months. Though he has just had a successful reversal of the colostomy issue, he still faces a long cancer battle, so once again due to lengthy recuperation times he has not been able to work as a sketch comedy teacher, or with the many other projects he is involved in.
