“If you wouldn’t say it in church, you don’t say it here” gets near unanimous nodding heads and grunts of approval. If I can get a bunch of middle class white Christians to chastise someone for using bigoted language and all I have to do is not say, “fuck” or “shit” during meetings, I’ll take that trade every time.
