I feel like I notice a strong review bias in VNs. Everyone that’s take the time to review claims the characters are so deep, the banter so funny.

It can certainly be true at times, but I get the sense the only people posting reviews of these games are the ones patient enough to finish, which offers some selection bias.

True but there is also selection bias in the games that are localised. I.e. games with a strong plot are more likely to get translated than those more low effort releases. Of course, certain publishers are also pushing the low effort stuff, so that’s something to be aware of.

Some great games in there. I can heartily recommend the Ace Attorney trilogy, Danganronpa, AI The Somnium Files, The Nonary Games, and Steins;Gate. Raging Loop is also fantastic even though it’s pretty buried in there.
