We got one step closer to proving Roger Penrose right about quantum consciousness because we found out microtubules in the brain can allow for tryptophan to not only become quantum entangled in the brain, but also it could allow for superposition where entanglement can happen as a group of atoms rather than individually.

The biggest argument against it was no one thought an environment like the brain could support a quantum state, since it’s so hard for us to do it outside of our brains. After this discovery, that’s been solved.

Shits pretty high level and hard to understand, but PBS put out a video that covers all the basics.

If that’s not enough to interest you. The superposition entanglement is how we make lasers, so right now as you’re thinking about this billions of lasers are shooting around inside your head.

It also means we ain’t going to have real AI anytime soon. It ain’t enough to simulate the millions of neurons, to replicate a human mind we need billions of quantum entagled particles as well. Something we probably won’t be able to do for centuries.

Ridiculously huge news, and it really wasn’t covered
