They only charged him with obstruction of justice. It’s like the lowest level felony they could find. This is so prosecutors can parade around going “look! We did our jobs and charged him with a felony! We’re not in bed with bad cops,” without actually throwing any of the actual big-boy charges at him. And the public will feel good for a few minutes because of the headline, then the obstruction charge will quietly get reduced (or dropped entirely) after people forget about it.
