Hey, detectives! Close those case files and drop your fingerprint scanner – we’ve got some important news you need to hear… Shadows of Doubt is leaving Early Access on September 26th! That’s right, our sandbox sleuth sim is getting a full release next month and it is coming to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Check out the release date trailer below: Prepare for major new content! Our full launch comes with a big update that would make any private investigator twitch with intrepidation.
I really really like this game, but is it ready for 1.0? Last I played a few months ago the simulation felt…lacking. The structure seems there, but things like NPCs walking around their apartments at all hours of the night make things difficult, as an example.
I think it’s an awesome proof of concept but it’s not going to evolve into the implied amazing game that we can all see suggested by what they’ve done so far. I think better to cut a 1.0 and then start working on a whole new game that can fully realize the potential.
Hopefully modders can collect some of the low hanging fruit that we are ultimately going to be left longing for.
