    I think this headline would be less confusing if it said “these Olympic athletes are married to each other”.

    At first I thought, “So what if they’re married?”

      Right? I was like uh… why we talking about women being wives like it’s a surprise they could accomplish something like the Olympics while still being married… OH WAIT YOU MEAN THEYRE MARRIED TO EACHOTHER AND COULD HAVE TO COMPETE AGAINST EACHOTHER. That’s way different.

      I was thinking similarly. It might not sound exactly right, but I think wife and wife would work, like that of husband and wife, if you wanted to keep the format the same using two identifiers instead of the grouping. I think that’s on the level.
