To win back support, the Democratic candidate must offer a positive and coherent vision centered on care and progressive policies, rather than relying solely on anti-Trump rhetoric.

Why would I show up if I’m not being courted? It works both ways.

If you want things to go left, you accomplish that by giving Dems consistent and overwhelming victories. Because every time they lose, they go to the center to find votes. Give them consistent and overwhelming victories to show them that it’s safe to go left.

BTW it’s not just presidential. Dems need all 3 houses (house of reps, senate, and presidency) to pass pretty much anything. Want to guess how long they’ve had that? In the last 24 years, they’ve had that for 4 years. Read that again, 4 years in the last 24 years. Want to go back further? Then it’s 6 years out of the last 32 years. Want to go back further? Then it’s 6 years out of the last 44 years. Yup. Dems have had control of all 3 houses for a measly 6 years out of the last 44 years. And you’re amazed that they go to the center to find votes and have to reach across the aisle? That’s your so called rachet effect, but the truth is that they never have control so they have to keep going to the center to find votes. You change that by, drumroll please, giving Dems consistent and overwhelming victories.

Works both ways? You’re missing they have another option: Go to the center to find voters. But you, the left voter that wants things to go left, don’t have another option. Decry the two party system all you want, you have no other option. This is why you can’t play mexican standoff, you will lose (and have lost) every single time. Dems will just go to the center to find voters.

*Just finished your video, his last line, “lots of work, let’s get to work” fucking yes, and what’s the first and easiest thing you can do? Vote. For. Dems. This is so fucking easy. Give every victory you can to the as far left candidate as you can, which is, drumroll please, the Dems. That would have included Gore. That would have included Hillary. That would have included years 3 through 8 of Obama (when he lost the house of reps for all 6, and lost the senate for the last 2). That would have included years 3 and 4 of Biden (when he lost the house of reps). That includes all the house of rep Dem candidates. That includes all the senate Dem candidates. And includes state level dems too. Are we actually agreeing?
