Didn’t get to play much of Octopath Traveler this week, though plan to continue it again this weekend. Instead spent some time playing Hotel Hustle with the kid.

Wasn’t interested in the game initially, but saw the SwitchUp review and got it to play co-op with my SO and kids. It’s solo or two-player co-op only, and fun to play even with casual gamers.

Most of the time was still spent with Kingdom Come: Deliverance, I have started exploring other towns near the starting one, and doing the side missions. Really enjoying it. The sense of progression is good, and you feel yourself rising the ranks from a commoner to a Knight. Still pretty early in the game though, have only done a few main missions.

What about all of you? What have you been playing lately? Also feel free to ask for, or share your game recommendations.

I just beat the Gerudo temple in TotK and now I finally have all 4 major missions done.

Only took me a fucking year.

I went back to TotK recently and my previous save was July last year. And I also just finished the Gerudo temple! I think I’ll do some exploring, sidequests and improve my armor before I continue the main story…

Haha, there is no need to rush through the games, specially something like TotK.

Take your time, and have fun!

It is fairly short, but at $25USD, it was priced reasonably enough that I didn’t feel cheated. And frankly, I don’t have time for very long games, I really can only manage short games, so it works out well for me.

Yeah, same here. I am preferring shorter games over long ones these days. Though my issue is I love (J)RPGs, so not much I can do about those.

I’m almost done with The Last Spark Hunter, will probably finish this weekend. They haven’t introduced any new enemies since the first few battles, so it’s been getting a bit dull to be honest. All the ‘New’ was very front-loaded.

Finished off the Batgirl challenges in Arkham Knight. For the most part it was very straight-forward, though she has this strange quirk of not being able to do grate takedowns silently. It’s oddly specific, everything else works normally, but okay. One map asked for a specific takedown on a specific enemy that just refused to go anywhere near that place, so I had to manually pull him into position with the grapple. I don’t think that’s the intended way, but from my research a lot of people struggled with that one. Next up, Red Hood. He’s gonna be weird because he just… shoots people. With a gun. Dead. He doesn’t have much in the way of gadgets either, so I’m curious what they’re going to ask me to do.

Ah cool. It’s a nice feeling when you finally finish a long game, even when you like it. But in this case you probably will be relieved 😀

It seems you’ll probably end Arkham Knight in couple of weeks max too. So, good luck with both!

    Finished Drainus!

Early comments on the previous post.

This is a great shoot’em up and a very good option for people getting started in this genre - it features a (minimal) storyline, saves and checkpoints, and it’s nowhere near as hard as the usual “bullet hell” game. There’s some fun experimentation you can do with the upgrade system, though I felt the game got quite easy once I unlocked a few upgrades and figured out a good loadout.

There are some small annoyances including a somewhat clunky upgrade menu and one specific boss, but nothing too detrimental to the experience. Definitely recommending this one.

    Minor storyline spoiler

The game has 6 stages but you’re required to go through them twice to get the real ending, which is a throwback to older games who often featured a harder “second loop”.

And I loved the way they tied this to the storyline.

Playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice, part of the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy!

Well, I was right last week about Maya getting in trouble again. Case 3 was long and intense, stakes felt high, there were some really good twists to the formula and I loved seeing the classic Phoenix+Maya team together again. My favorite case in the game so far.

Case 4 on the other hand is short and wacky, with Athena trying to solve a murder involving japanese food and Rakugo theather with the help of Simon Blackquill. It’s definitely a filler case, but I think it’s one of the best short cases in the series.

Next is final case for the main story (there is an additional DLC Case), but I haven’t started it yet.
