If I was a tenant in that house, I’d be buying a USB killer and/or Etherkiller and plugging them in to the NVR and any other data ports I could find.
If there was no agreement in the lease about the cameras they could probably also just cover them with bags. Landlord can do shit about telling them they can’t store their items in front of them.
Unfortunately doesn’t do anything in regards to audio.
I would 100% cover the cameras and then quietly do as much damage to the place before leaving.

“no expectation of showing private parts” in a common area.
It’s not just about nudity. It’s about privacy. I’m sure those cameras can still pick up audio if they were in their bedrooms. Now they can’t call their doctors without knowing that they can discuss private issues or financial information without someone recording it.
Absolutely disgusting. This shouldn’t be a grey area, this should be a red area. A very red area.
"But when the roommates returned home that day, eight CCTV cameras had been installed around the common areas.
Two outside, and six inside."
fuck each and every thing about this fucking shit. I would give each camera the finger, spraypaint their fucking lenses, then tear the shit out of the walls one by one. what demented bullshit, like you’ve signed on for big brother (tv show) just for renting a room…
Personally I’d not be doing any damage to the camera, but I would 100% be taking a screwdriver or whatever other tool is necessary to remove the camera from operation non-destructively.
