honestly it’s not and the peak is over. The meta game sounds interesting but there are not much player as community can do except filling a bar. (ie. the game master can tweak the planet regen rate for each phase of major order and for normal recovery rate)

I mean even I just play the game occasionally just to get the extra medals and waiting for the next warbond to drop. (while still not geting all the important stuffs from previous warbonds. I only try to get guns/grenades/boosters first and then emotes/armor/credit, the rest I don’t really care. )

If I play more than I currently have then I will max out everything in a week. (only have one last ship upgrade to go and I don’t even need to grind super samples as I frequently play lv7+)

    Edits: charts won’t lie

This game heavily reminds me of Call of Duty Zombies, but like the early days when surprises and easter egg hunting rewarded the curious. But this game has more depth in the co-op play thanks to actual limitations in the equipment and hindrances from playing alone. I think this game could be the next CoD Zombies.

But if you’re playing without a crew that you know, sure it’s gonna get boring the second you’ve tried every toy.

I am playing with the crew that consist of the same 6~8 people from lv1 all the way to my current lv45. I only have maybe 10+ pub matches so far since honestly wiping and be the only one left to finish or fail extraction is not that fun.

I still kinda feel bored cause there are no other motivation to keep pushing, it is fun to play with known crew but right now I kinda only want to play around update time etc or go online to pick up medals. Or try new weapons when newer warbond drops.

This game is all about cooperative multiplayer of friends. That’s where it shines. The progression system by itself is not enough to maintain it.

Say you have not played HD1 without saying you have not played HD1. The game was barely 0.06% as big as HD2 is in terms of playerbase if I’m not mistaken, and it had some very good long term support.

We will get pushed back to super earth and have to fight desperate defenses on more urbanized planets at some point. We can literally get pushed all the way back to super earth itself and have to defend it (probably with special missions and unique maps) or lose the galactic war. Also when we push an enemy faction back to their capital systems there will be boss fights to take these planets. Actually I’m pretty sure they expect to introduce us to the terminids’ boss in a few weeks since they put a ton of major orders against them lately, and we are now very close to their home planets. Vehicles were also pretty diverse and I can only imagine what they have in store for us right now in that department. Also an entire enemy faction is obviously missing and there’s room for a fourth one on the galactic map (HD1 only had 3)

But also, as other people have already pointed out, ultimately it’s a kind of horde coop game. If you don’t enjoy running the same missions with slight variations over and over in games like left 4 dead, vermintide, deep rock galactic, cod zombies etc, yeah, you’re probably not gonna enjoy HD2 much more

I just wish the meta game have more variation, I will still coming back for the updates and such as I do enjoy playing with my regular crew. But steam chart numbers won’t lie, the peak is past.
