The Houthis are sending ordinance and drones in small numbers. They don’t seem to be coordinating attacks. What they’ve been trying has been mitigated every time.

If they actually want to threaten Sailor lives at a scale not seen since WW2, they need to step up their game. Hell, just follow what every armchair tactician proposes and overwhelm the ships with massive volume of drones and missiles.

In WW2, hundreds of lives and several ships were lost and crippled in single battles. There hasn’t even been a “battle” in this conflict.

I think it speaks more to how imposing the US Navy is, that this is the highest level of fire they’ve seen since WW2. I don’t think they’re trying to say that the levels are comparable.

I agree with what you’re saying, but that’s what they wrote. They could have phrased it in a less “thousands will die at sea” way.

Maybe something like “highest number of attacks against US ships since WW2,” but even that’s not saying too much, as there really haven’t been that many attacks on the Navy compared to what ground pounders have seen.

“highest number of attacks” and “highest volume of fire” mean the same thing
