I still can’t get over the fact that a supposedly massive team (Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai) couldn’t remake a <5 hour game. They’re not even tasked with making a new game, just remaking a 2 decade old game and making it look good.

And they couldn’t do it so they gave it to a real part of Ubisoft and apparently that’s in development hell too. What is even going on? I guess it’s just cursed.

Serious nostalgia fuel. Solid story and the game play blew my mind at that age.

Look, I’m a fan of the Sands of Time trilogy (Warrior Within less so, but that’s neither here nor there), but… it’s modern day Ubisoft. We’re talking about the same scummy company that ties every single one of their games to Uplay, is hellbent on including in-game stores in games that already cost full price, is pushing Quartz even though they haven’t a singular clue how that is beneficial to anyone.

So even when they do remake Sands of Time, are we seriously expecting this to be any less than a shitshow?

It can definitely be a shitshow, knowing Ubisoft’s current direction. They want a game to ejaculate profits, and it means putting NFTs and microtransactions even to single-player games, even though they don’t add any value to it. “Ubisoft, uh, finds a way.”
