minus-squareThe Picard Maneuver@startrek.websiteOPMlinkfedilinkarrow-up19arrow-down1·edit-210 months agoSame. I can’t tell a huge difference between 1080p and 4k, if I’m being honest.
minus-squareMightyGalhupo@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up12·10 months agoHell, I can’t tell ANY difference (though I do need glasses so maybe that’s got to do with it)
minus-squareRodeolinkfedilinkarrow-up1·10 months agoSmall print text rendering is where you’ll see the difference. Game graphics, whatever, but if you have to do a lot of reading or coding, you can make the text smaller and still stays crystal clear.
minus-squareMightyGalhupo@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·10 months agoI see, that’s fair, my experience is pretty much just with gaming
minus-squareaverage lemmy user@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up11·10 months agohaven’t tried it but I’m pretty sure you can’t tell 8K from 4K anyway
minus-squaresamus12345@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up8·10 months agoI can tell a difference, but not enough to be worth the cost.
minus-squareKiosadelinkfedilinkarrow-up7·10 months agoYeah and once you’re deep into playing… you stop caring about that stuff and focus on the game.
minus-squarescoobford@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up5·10 months agoContext matters a lot. On a 27" monitor, it makes a pretty decent difference. On a 50" TV at 10+ ft…meh?
minus-squareqaz@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·10 months ago1080 vs 2k is pretty clear to me, but I have a hard time telling the difference between 2k and 4k.
minus-squaresomeguy3linkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·10 months agoCan you get a 2k tv? I thought we jumped to 4k.
Same. I can’t tell a huge difference between 1080p and 4k, if I’m being honest.

I have a 2k monitor, not a TV
