    Being on the receiving end of that is the worst. If you really don’t like the music, you feel like you need to lie and say it’s cool to protect their feelings.

      I mean my best friend and I enjoy showing each other new songs but we’re secure enough in our music tastes to not take it personally if a song doesn’t jive with the other person. It’s a nice way to find new music since our tastes overlap enough that we usually like a few of the same songs.

      Yeah, I had someone play some Snarky Puppy for me once. Straight up felt uncomfortable listening to it with them staring at me, but said it was alright.

      Went away and listened to it again and loved it. Even if it’s good, it’s difficult to get into with someone breathing down your neck.

        Once a girl I was dating played Death Cab For Cutie for me and I hated them so much I kinda wanted to break up with her. Years later I got into The Postal Service (same singer) and eventually gave Death Cab another listen and I was like … shit this is good. Oh well, it is what it is.
