I’m still on Facebook because of that’s how I keep up with friends I no longer live near, but you know what Facebook has been loath to show me recently? Posts from my friends. Easily 75% of my feed is sponsored or “recommended” content. If they’re not going to show me the one and only thing I come to the site to see, I might as well not come to the site.

Same here … but the thing is … I have the app but never look at it … the only time I need it is to look up a specific post that a family or friend told me about and wants me to see … I only turn on messenger to contact someone.

I have Facebook but all notifications are turned off and I only look at it when I need to not when some dumb alert comes on.

Once in a while I’ll scroll through the app and wonder why anyone would want to look at all this junk … and it’s scary to realize that it is literally an infinite scroll of stupidity.

And yes I know that keeping the app is actively tracking my life in other ways but I’ll take that risk to keep in touch with my family … it’s weird, almost everyone I know is online in some form now and they seldom use regular text or phone calls any more.
