the phrase is “peanut butter and jelly” but i realized i’ve never actually had one with jelly before. i don’t think i’ve ever bought a jar of jelly in my life. how about you?
Note that “jelly” in North America == “jam” in Britain. It’s another one of those words, like biscuit or pudding.
Raspberry preserves. Fight me!
oh raspberry preserves are the best!
I’d fight right alongside you!

I’d use pie filling and call it “jelly” idgaf
Reported, banned, defederated, and consigned to everlasting flames.
Not a fan of jelly. Preserves are preferred. Something about those fruit chunks and seeds make it taste better.
I second preserves. They’re the best!
I’ve used Grape and Apple jelly. All the berries, (blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry) have been jams which I’ve used.
I don’t think I’ve ever used jelly. Wait…there’s a mint jelly my dad used to buy but I never used it. Other than that it’s always been jam or preserves. The more fruit, the better.
Preserves. Jelly has an odd texture.
Yes 😉.
I’d say “whichever one has the more chunky/varied texture,” which I’m pretty sure puts me in the Jam Camp, but my local groceries never seem to be consistent with whether that should be called a jelly or a jam. I’ll take whatever’s put in front of me, but I personally enjoy having some texture variety in there with the seeds and fruit bits.
Except for marmalades. I definitely enjoy an orange marmalade on toast, but something about the idea of rinds feels icky in my PB sandwiches 😖.
Never!
Marmite and peanut butter is the way.
Or maybe peanut butter and some finely chopped fresh chilli.*
*Chilli flakes are acceptable as a last resort.
I burned out on PB&J after basically getting stuck eating it for lunch for most of my childhood. I think I’ve eaten less than 5 PB&J sandwiches in the past 15 years. But, yeah, not a big fan of jelly, but I do like occasionally putting jam on my toast.
Jam’s my jam 😎
The J stands for jam!
99% of the time, jam. I have probably used jelly once or twice.
For me, jam is made from the fruit and the pulp, jelly from the syrup or juice.
Gelatin-based “Jell-O” or jelly is something I miss where I live now. I mean, you can buy it, but not everywhere.
I strongly feel that grape makes the best PB&J’s, and I’ve never seen grape jam, only jelly so that I guess. If I was using any other flavor I would choose the jam option instead
I prefer honey. But what I do most mornings is toast with peanut butter, flax meal, hemp hearts, and sunflower seeds.
