China’s jobless rate for 16 to 24 age group stood at 14.9 per cent in December 2023, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday, with the release of the data having been suspended in July.

    So better than India, where joblessness in the age group of 20 to 24 grew to 44.49%, and 14.33% for the age group of 25-29.

    I guess China’s rapidly shifting towards a highly-educated economy with automation rounding out the lower end? Wouldn’t be surprised if higher education became compulsory.
