    I mean, they’re not wrong, the market is actually oversaturated with games. One look at the indie section on Steam or any other storefront and you’ll see tens of dozens of derivatives of the same games in any genre you can think of, I can only imagine the struggle it must be to make your game set itself apart from the rest.

      There are dozens of off-brand derivative cookies in the grocery store, should they be limited to offering only brand name?

        I don’t think the poster is saying that we shouldn’t make these games, just that there’s a ton of competition.

        Never said people shouldn’t make a derivative game. Do you want to? Be my guest, just don’t be surprised if your game only sold a handful of copies.
