    when a London police officer, driving a police cruiser southbound on William Street, attempted to turn eastbound onto York Street. During this turn, the cruiser collided with a cyclist.

    Ahh, the passive voice. The cruiser struck the cyclist, not the cop driving the cruiser. Cops have no agency, donchaknow.

      I mean, the SIU would find it highly suspicious if the camera footage was “lost”, deleted, or tampered with. They’d automatically assume the officer did something wrong, so it’s more for their protection than it is for public safety.

        Doesn’t Canada have the concept that destroyed or lost evidence indicates the evidence was contrary to the interests of the party that didn’t produce it?
