Alek Manoah returned to the big-league mound for the first time in a little over a month Friday. He got ahead in counts, kept challenging hitters over the plate and put them away. As he pitched deeper into the game, some of his swagger returned, too.
Really glad to see this. I know the Tigers aren’t exactly a fearsome lineup, but I had no idea what to expect.
Manoah taking care of business and getting some run support was just what the doctor ordered.
It went really well. No walks, no HBP. Super promising.
