Notably, this was filed with the UN’s ICJ rather than the decidedly not UN-backed ICC (which, since it’s not a UN body, happens to lack the support of the US, Russia, and China as well as most of Southeast Asia and the Middle East).
I mean, why wouldn’t they go for the basically muslim-owned UN? You know, the demographic that’s known for nice things like treating women like cattle, stoning people to death and (most importantly in this context) hating Jews?

It has already been done. IJC ruled Russia’s operation an invasion and ordered Russia to withdraw. UN does not have an enforcement branch, this cannot be enforced. There is also a warrant for arrest of Vladimir Putin himself.
