How did you search for the community? In case you’re the first subscriber to “russia” on vlemmy, the community won’t be federated yet.
The correct syntax to add a community to your instance is searching !community-name@instance instead of using keyword search, so in your case use !russia@lemmy.ml
There might be a delay, but eventually it should work.
