5,000-year-old rock art depicting the oldest nativity scene ever found has been found in Egypt’s Sahara Desert: A newborn between parents, two animals, and a star in the east.
Reminiscent of the Bible’s account of Jesus’s birth, the prehistoric painting predates the biblical account by around 3,000 years.
Christianity took from other religions. They all do.
It’s easier to get converts if the new religion has elements from the last religion.
It’s not that surprising. Christianity is just a rip off of Zoroastrianism, which is known to have been around for at least 2000 years before Christ
Never heard of this. What else can you tell us about Zoroastrianism?

It’s not exactly a particularly unique scene is it? Is there any indication there was some kind of deification of any of the figures in the painting?
I just don’t agree with the focus on tying the two together. It seems like a very weak, high-school level atheistic take. There’s more substantial things we can gain from these ancient paintings, and much more substantiated ways of making the argument this article title is trying to make.
It does seem a bit of a stretch. I don’t think we can assign such context from that picture. Maybe the artist accidentally dropped a bit of blood on the picture and lo, it’s a star!
Most Christian myths come from other religions, including the resurrection and the immaculate conception. Christianity is based on Judaism, which in itself is the remnant of a polytheistic religion in which Yahweh was only one of many gods. It also has influences from Egyptian, Greek myths and others from the region
But, but, but…the wise men!
The wise men in the Nativity myth were actually a representation of the Zoroastrian and the eastern kingdoms, literally bowing down to their new Lord.
