Business owners complain that they won’t make a profit if they can’t get fuel at subsidized prices. Which I find facetious. Essentially what Min Aung Hlaing is doing is subsidizing all the exporters at the industrial zone by selling them fuel at official below-market exchange rate, which are mostly foreign-owned firms. Really stupid economic policies. If you want to keep domestic unrest at a minimum, sell subsidized fuel to residents but not to businesses and exporters.
