    I’ve never had a hard days work

    And that won’t change as a dispatcher. Just send the State Euthanasia Force, erm. I mean Police for every other call (don’t even pick up the other half), and you should be good.

      They’re usually underpaid, understaffed, and overworked. Little training for a job that’s literally life and death.

      Plus most dispatchers help with more than just police calls, they help deliver babies or deal with medical emergencies before EMS can get there

      You are aware that emergency services dispatch is one of the jobs with the highest suicide rates because they’re basically spending all day/night listening to people in extreme duress, often without the ability to provide life-saving aid in time, and usually without adequate psychological support and access to therapy?
